Bulletproofed Centax clutch:
Serpent revolutionized R/C gas car clutch design when we introduced the Centax clutch - a-super efficient clutch that converts centrifugal clutch shoe motion into axial clutch housing engagement (hence the name, Centax). It is such a competitive advantage that it’s become the industry standard. The Vector sports the proven Centax design with a new low-wear clutch shoe that lasts longer than the previous shoe material.

3mm spring-steel suspension pins:
New 3mm spring-steel suspension pins have been used through the Vector. These pins are light but incredibly strong.

Uni-position shock absorbers:
Many R/C racing cars feature multiple shock positioning locations. Often these options only confuse racers. The Vector’s front and rear shocks are positioned in one location that produces the most effective suspension operation. This allows the racer to concentrate on other adjustments and prevents mis-tuning.

Optimized gearing:
Close attention has been paid to the gearing on the Vector. Thread-on clutch gears permit easy gear ratio changes and are very economical compared to fixed double-gear clutch bells. The two-speed spur gears are cut at the most ideal diameters for smooth mesh and high strength.

Forward-mounted mid belt:
The front mid belt shaft and pulley assembly has been moved forward. This has allowed re-positioning of the radio tray components to achieve the Low Polar Force/Center-of-Gravity. The shorter front shaft also reduces weight and rotating mass for greater efficiency.

Self-centering, splined brake ex-center:
The new brake ex-center features a self-centering spring mechanism to ensure consistent and complete brake disengagement. A servo-style spline mounting hole makes for easy brake lever positioning.

Isolating radio tray mounting block:
The rear radio tray mounting block isolates the roll bar allowing you to easily remove the radio tray for pit work. Constructed of machined aluminum, this mounting block creates a super-solid coupling between the radio tray and chassis to further stiffen the car and optimize suspension operation.

Ackerman-correct servo saver:
The Vector’s servo saver works in conjunction with the front end geometry to create the proper Ackerman steering effect (in which the wheel on the inside of a turn is turned at a greater angle than the outside wheel). A stiff internal spring gives solid steering feel, yet protects the servo gears in a jarring crash.

Light front bumper:
The impact-resistant front bumper is light to help relocate overall weight towards the center of the car.

Easy access rear anti-roll bar; One-piece front anti-roll bar:
The rear anti-roll bar is easily accessible for quick changes. The one piece front anti-roll bar halves are simply rotated in the holders to permit fast, accurate anti-roll adjustment.

Nylon fuel tank mounting brackets:
These brackets solidily secure the tank to the radio tray, while inhibiting fuel foaming.

Ball joint steering linkage:
A ball joint steering system gives smooth control, simple adjustability, and resists removal during severe accidents and impacts.

One-piece rear body mount and wheel-well support:
No more wire bending! The slick rear body mount transmits aerodynamic downforce onto the hub carriers for increased grip. The wide span of the bodymount also prevents the body from collapsing onto the rear wheels at high speed.
